Corporate services don't support project teams

Pros

Technical teams are passionate and innovative. Most people love the immediate teams and colleagues they work with and even their immediate line managers.

Cons

The (Australian based) corporate management does not understand the need for more robust corporate services to support their project teams. Despite repeated request for additional staffing and support in areas like accounting/payments/financial management, contracts and compliance, recruiting/HR there seems to be little to no movement from corporate leadership to address these issues which teams have been raising for years. Consequently turnover remains high, morale is slipping and project quality is suffering.

Great mission and impact! The work being done is changing lives around the world.

Cons

The company seems to be always in flux with the systems it wants to implement in regional offices. It's not rolled out clearly to staff and causes a lot of confusion and frustration because people are expected to use systems ASAP.

Very few. The offices are in a nice location in DC

Cons

Unfriendly environment. Project teams tend to throw a lot of work at operations staff, treating them like accountants and admin assistants. The ops staff will be drowning in work without any hep. Very hierarchical. Personal opinions and suggestions to improve culture and work environment are discouraged and if you keep voicing them you will be slated for a lay off.
