Political nightmare and zero tech knowledge

Pros

Depending on the organization you can have a very good work-life balance. The benefits are also generally very good. They give you some freedom to try new things. Salaries are okay at best for the "enlisted", B4 and up are good, and if you are an executive they are very good (they keep increasing theirs every year...).

Cons

It's the worst company I have ever experienced in terms of politics. It's a company founded on bad project managers managing project managers that manage project managers that manage external vendors. 90% of people will never do actual work. the other 10% will leave the company as soon as they can. I have experienced senior leaders lying to many people (I have proof of this) to sell their Frankenstein monster of applications and get more money to hire extra PMs and get more power. It's only about power. I can't wait to get out.

Pros

Great to have on CV. Learned a lot from the experience which I’ve been able to go on and apply elsewhere. It’s true that you learn as much from poor managers as you do from good ones. I certainly learned how not to people manage and that I need look out for number one in future. Money and benefits are good pros but not worth it in my opinion.

Cons

P&G talk the talk about mental wellness and work-life balance. From my experience I found this to be little more than hot air. My self esteem was completely eroded during my time here and I cried more often than not when I got home from work. People were superficially friendly and caring but would actually use your weaknesses against you if you chose to trust and confide in them. I felt extremely out of my depth due to being put on a large account and customer with very little support (this was a graduate role). The role also wasn’t what I expected - extremely admin and spreadsheet heavy. The company also talks about ‘safe learning spaces’. There was no such thing. I am so relieved to have left this toxic workplace behind me and to be excelling in a new role elsewhere which I love.

Pros

Good pay, great exposure into what's happening from the bottom to the top of the company

Cons

-Flexible schedule doesn't mean you can come in to work and go out anytime to enjoy. It means you have so much work and no time to enjoy -Line Managers won't hesitate to throw you under the bus if they feel that your performance will effect their position in the company. -High turn over rate due to the working culture where you always have to eat more than what you can chew.
