Company with no work-life balance

Pros

The people here are great; few politics and comprehensive training and development program. However, compensation here is terrible. After considering the number of hours we work, we are paid less than others who work at less prestigious companies.

Cons

P&G works you to your bone. Recent years of aggressive cost-cutting means redistributing of work to those who stayed. Everyone here is handling more work and most people worked till late at night; even those who appeared offline replied my emails when I sent them at 11pm. Terrible workplace. Corporate communication here does a great job in making sure media view P&G favourably (what do you expect, we are famous for marketing). Sometimes the truth is so distorted from reality that they become folklore internally. Most are here waiting to get poached to other companies. Think twice before coming!

Pros

Mostly solid values, good quality people, generally good training for your next job.

Cons

P&G is a struggling business and has all the shortcomings associated with it. It's been years since this behemoth made any real progress that was not associated with cutting itself into smaller pieces. If you have a choice, go find a job where the business is growing and there is optimism. Here it feels like everyone is phoning it in until retirement, next best offer pops up, or they get sold off.

Not the same company it used to be

Pros

I loved P&G when I started 15 years ago. They were great when I was going through my child having cancer, and my co-workers really rallied around my family.

Cons

It's not the same company it used to be. They tout their PVP's' but don't actually live by them anymore, only the profit and how much money they can tell their investors they've cut. It's not a female-friendly company, and I watch several women be driven out because of the way leadership treated them or branded them. I personally felt this when I was told by my HR manager that maybe P&G was a good fit for me since I had other priorities in my life like my family and kids.
