Pros

- good funding for equipment or travel expenses. - international travel. - salary is OK.

Cons

- Big boss and micromanagement style. - Silo and hierarchic work culture. - Team leader yelling, lots of drama. - inter department arguments. - Lack of innovation and creativity. All technology and know how are imported from Germany. - Poor work work environment(smelly toilet, boring office design) compared with Intel, OSRAM, Agilent etc in the same city.

Pros

Very good work-life balance. Due to the very strong german unions it is nearly impossible to get fired.

Cons

Bosch is active on a lot of markets, but this review is from its automotive business unit. As the whole automotive sector, Bosch is very conservative. The core products are well established product lines with more emphasis on product management than on development. For engineers seeking a dynamic environment it may be no fit. Career advancement is extremely slow. Failed managers are assigned new tasks, department head level people without any department are not rare...

Pros

FREE Breakfast. FREE lunch. FREE Snacks. Good place for those who have just managed to pass engineering (35+15=50) kind and want to brag of working in a MNC. Job security. Great place for ladies.

Cons

High tech government organization. Keep on doing same thing again and again. No learning. Will go brain dead after a few months. Get locked in forever doing nonsense stuff. Cannot quit so easily, hard notice period of 3 months or even more. Nothing new and exciting. It's a new age Factory. Incompetent people promoted up just because they are there for long time. Old employees think they are doing something great inside, while they are no longer valuable outside. Worst place for freshers, will just screw your career. Even worse for laterals, no matter what you had done previously, it does not matter here. Process oriented organization, with an aim to achieve person independency. Employ robots instead of humans. Things move very slow, lots of unwanted things in the name of quality, will lose your energy and enthusiasm in doing unwanted things. No real development work, just managing engineering change orders. Basically you are lost in the crowd. Sign bond if sent onsite to Germany. A way to retain people. Many inside don't even know that there is a big world outside and need to get out of BOSCH WORLD. Senior technical members have limited knowledge, only their perspective. People with lots of false prestige. All in all bad work culture and not a great place to work.
