Pros

All the tools and training are given to you to succeed. Nice perks like free services well most of them. Monthly Performance Bonus based off your work, I found this amazing, A company that actually rewards their employees for a job well done.

Cons

As a tech you are the frontline face for dispatch, supervisors and clients. Which are big on keeping your appointment time which I get because it's their job but dispatch gets so stressed out when you get stuck at a service call and they hound you and keep bugging you. This is basically due to their supervisors hounding them. The company had the approach, get the job done right the first time and the only thing that matters is that client your working with and every customer matters ( which I believe is really freaking awesome! ) but when it came time to actually taking care of clients dispatch and supervisor would stress you out so bad about other jobs you had on your route. Supervisors would then say do a follow up or schedule a rewire or something. So now the client has to be home again on another future date and probably miss a day of work cause supervisors and or dispatch has other people waiting. That is one of the biggest issues that service techs face. In company meetings upper management would say one thing and supervisors would turn around say another. It was always a fight on which is right and what should be followed. Then you stress out about if your going to get in trouble for doing it the way your supervisor told you to even though upper management just told you that's the wrong way to handle a situation. After a while it became the norm.

Pros

Discounted services, tuition reimbursement, FMLA, 401k, paid vacation, sick time, guaranteed 40 hours a week. Food trucks come to sell lunch, training is getting better. Previous senior manager seemed to truly care about organization...but then someone from Time Warner was brought in and turned the department into a trainwreck. He also brought some useless "supervisors" or babysitters into the department who have zero skills on how to coach. Spectrum does not seem to value education, they prefer people who are "off the streets" so that they can pay them less.

Cons

The management is atrocious! The place has had high turnover ever since roles were changed in TCC. Not a supportive or fun environment. Low pay. No incentives at all. No longer have work at home option for top performers. No holidays off. Open 365 days. No commission on upgrades, no designated seat for agents (be prepared for germs and getting sick...and searching for a new desk every single day), business dress every single day of the week (yes even on Fridays and weekends). Micromanagement is affluent here. Be prepared to have supervisors and leads messaging you if you are on the phone helping a customer for more than 9 minutes, they will do anything to rush you off the call. Also, do not even think of looking at a website during your downtime if it's not a Spectrum site. You can't have a magazine or food at your desk. The atmosphere is the exact opposite of what it was at Bright House Networks. It was a pleasure working when it was BHN.

Pros

Many of the co-workers there are hard working and interesting people. They keep the company going. The new Time Warner policies promise more vacation time.

Cons

The new Time Warner policies promise more vacation time, but won't actually ever let you take it. In fact it is not unusual to have upper management work people seven days a week until they break, just to beat each other to promotions. This tradition absolutely carries over to many of the new Time Warner managers and VPs who have joined the team. HR sees their job as one of subverting the employee to increase overall company profits, not helping or protecting them.
