Pros

The local management truly cares about the employees, and taking care of the customer. They do whatever they can to show appreciation for all the hard work done by the technicians on a daily basis.

Cons

The Regional Management Team and above couldn't care any less for what happened with the employees or customers. They are so numbers driven, that if an employee is unhappy and wants to leave, they do nothing to find out why, or make any movements to keep a good employee. They will remind you constantly that the team is replaceable if numbers are not consistently met. That attitude spreads through the team like a cancer.

Pros

NONE! The "free cable" barely works where I live.

Cons

You are expected to work from 10 AM- 8PM 6 days a week. You must hit 10 triple plays (Cable, Internet, Phone) sales to get paid ANY commission or you'll be getting $692 every 2 weeks which equates to $5.7/hour. They will set you up in Prostitute infested, Trap house infested, Illegals infested areas that haven't had, nor want any services OR simply don't exist and let you get 5-6 sales for them just for them to tell you, you didn't make quota... 2 week "training" module with people who have NEVER worked in door to door sales telling YOU how it works. Fairy tale scenarios to make reps think it is "easy"... Managers above you who have NEVER done door to door sales...don't actually knock more than an hour a day themselves breathing down your neck because you need to take care of personal stuff which they don't allow because you're supposed to be working 10AM to 8 PM with only Sunday (the worst day to get any business done) Off.

Pros

The benefits were among some of the best things about working at Charter. 401k match, dental, vision, and medical were all very good. I started at 13.18 an hour and recieved a raise of 39 cents after my first year. It is 40 hours a week but you won't know what schedule you get until after you finish your training though.

Cons

Upper management constantly changes. They expect you to adapt to new policy without them explaining the policies to you much if at all. Constant changing of rules and procedures was very taxing mentally as you have to remember A LOT of stuff in this position. The customers. Yes we work with people unsatisfied with paying us money due to non working service, rise in cost, and various other reasons but what makes this bad is that there is no time in between calls at all sometimes. There is a lot of back to back calls where you can't catch a breath. To anyone considering this position you should practice talking for 8 hours a day without stopping. For the first several weeks your throat will be sore. Use cough drops as needed.
