Empowerment in store management, but challenging district managers
Pros
You really get to make your own team, own the store, and make it yours. A lot is standardized. For some, it may not seem like autonomy, but you have a clear way to do things. The pay and compensation package for every level and role is very fair. The culture is great if you can make it great.
Cons
District managers can be a dream or an absolute nightmare. Prepare to drink the Kool-Aid, and you’re never allowed to say anything negative or disagree. Two-way dialogue is supposed to be fostered within your store, but that will not be something you get with your district manager. You’re salaried, so sometimes you gotta take the L if no one can support. DMs are required to follow up on way more than I think they need to. Some have absolutely no regard for your personal time.
