Pros

Nearly flat structure of the company, very open and listening management, engineers are usually free to choose what they would like to work on. Possibility of moving between teams and domains. Great paternity/maternity leave, best in class pension/insurance plans and in general, I'd say a lot of great things.

Cons

Working in 2 timezones (NYC/Oslo) has some impact on the speed of things.

Pros

Engineers are amazing, knowledgable, and helpful. The culture is friendly and welcoming.

Cons

Bad hiring decision of certain Eng/DS manager position. Incompetent manager not only blocks the productivity of the engineering team, but also lowers the morales across teams.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time at Tapad. We're happy to hear you enjoyed the people and the culture. As with most companies, new employees have a learning curve, managers included, and it takes time to get up to speed. That being said, we are continuously working with our leaders by investing in management training to further develop and strengthen our management capabilities. We appreciate your feedback; it helps us reflect and evolve and build a better place to work for all our employees.

I'm happy here.

Pros

Flexible hours. Unlimited PTO, even though I don't use much. Leadership team invests in your professional growth in any way that you ask for. There's really no way to tell who is where in the company hierarchy. Everyone sits together, and everyone has the opportunity to lead projects or initiatives. If you want to try something, the answer is probably yes. Personal health and wellness is a priority. Go to the gym during the day if you want to. It's fine. Get your work done, be a productive member of your team, and everyone will be happy. One-on-one meetings with supervisors are helpful and do not feel like a waste of time. You are in control of your own growth.

Cons

The engineering team and the commercial team have different requirements for promotion, but people from both teams get promoted all the time, so it might not actually be an issue.
