Pros

TransUnion associates are generally very friendly, kind people who are well-intentioned. Work-life balance is strong for most of the organization. Because people stay forever, there are many associates who have great perspective and strong networks across the org, making them invaluable partners.

Cons

People stay at TransUnion forever- This leads to complacency and stagnation across the organization. Change is slow-moving and some of the work done is incompetent, bordering on negligent. There is no path to promotion or growth in many cases, as the rungs above you on the corporate ladder are filled with people who've been there 20 and 30 years in some cases.

I love the people at TU and I am so glad that you got to experience how kind and friendly they are. As I read your review further, I have to be honest, I felt my heart sink. We want TU to be the kind of place where everyone feels they have the opportunity to grow their career and succeed. By everyone – I mean those who are tenured and those who are new. Anyone who wants to work hard, learn and grow is someone who should feel they have a home here. I am sorry that you did not have that experience. I do appreciate the feedback – it won’t go unheard. - Anne Leyden, EVP HR

Pros

The benefits are pretty good, and I believe you're eligible after 30 days. They do try to do a good amount of events, both business related and socially. The current CEO is the best we've had since I've been here. No matter the department I've always loved the people I work with.

Cons

Depending on the department you are in you could feel micromanaged and like you're being treated like a child. HR is not here for the employee they are here for the company so it doesn't matter if your manager is clearly treating you different and unfairly in comparison to your coworkers and you go to them to report it, the manager will always come out on top.

Pros

Co-workers (developers) are mostly smart, open minded... Based on your social skills or affiliations, you have little/no work on most days. Covered parking is rewarded to good employees as a recognition. Good challenges such as big data problems to discuss, understand and then ...

Cons

In general, there is a lot of exclusion, secrecy, racism, nepotism, hierarchy status, ... Some of management practices causes issues/conflicts/resentment. For example, some issues are resolved while some are used to cause further rift. Growth is null but the perks/assistance are based on your favoritism/IP scale.
