Pros

Co-workers are fully engaged and great to work with. Close to Metra. Benefits are a bit above average and flexible work at home schedule

Cons

Senior management allows and promotes a hostile work environment; HR not engaged. Manager had multiple HR complaints filed by multiple team members and Sr Management and HR did nothing.

Pros

Good location. Current technology. Very flexible with respect to work hours and location. CEO has a positive vision.

Cons

Commitment to employee growth is unreliable. Departments seem more silo'ed than ever, despite management efforts. Rigidly locked down environment.

Pros

Work life balance is good CEO and CIO have engaging personalities and are charismatic, both are able to articulate a convincing and appealing vision for where they want to take the company and their organizations. Base salary is decent; 401k matching rates and year-end financial-performance based 401k bonus contributions are good

Cons

Everyone in a senior role is from HSBC and the favoritism is very obvious. Rather than promoting from within, they tend to just go back to the HSBC well and bring in more HSBC employees. Moving up is very challenging for anyone not from HSBC. As such, incentive pay is non-existent unless you're from HSBC. Vision of the CEO and CIO tend to break down at lower levels within the IT shop over there and those folks are way too mired in fighting fires and being operational to continue innovating
