Decent place to work, but hard to advance

Pros

Company with strong performance in difficult economic times. Job security due to how well the company is doing, as long as you are performing up to standards.

Cons

Pay below similar positions at other companies. Hard to advance and/or get promoted. Performance indicators linked to review are not what your abilities reflects. You can receive low marks due to circumstances that you cannot control (ex. vendor issues, unpredictablity of retail market, etc) Company is growing and doing well, but does not see that trickle down to employees in the forms of promotion or raises.

Pros

it's a block from my house.. Gratis, but then again salon employees don't get gratis. if you have a lot of clientele its not a bad place to be.

Cons

.every time you are about to level jump they change your schedule so you lose clients, this cuts your hours so every couple of months you have to completely rebuild, knowing that as soon as you have you're going to lose all of your hours and clientele. getting cussed at by management makes my day! we have our clients sign wavers, this is completely redundant because the minute they complain management offers them a refund with out even checking to see if a waiver was signed, or if anything was wrong. i was accused of stealing hours once because i had a client who rescheduled a few times in one week. my hours dropped drastically when my manager found out i was pregnant. can't remember my last 15 minute break or the last lunch that i didn't clock out and then work right through.
