Pros

Cons

The culture that continues to "grow" of constant change is wasting vast resources and draining employees. Which every change we seem to add more senior level management while contracting out the lower level positions. Senior management says things will operate a specific way, then changes at the last minute. A perfect example being the promise of a bonus in 2023... with the uncertainty around "ring fencing" the base metals operation, management promised the bonus (AIP) system would remain unchanged. In the final days prior to the announcement of ring fencing partners, management changed the bonus system. Will it actually benefit employees? If a company can afford to hand out crazy bonuses based on such arbitrary metrics, maybe they could simply increase our wages to ensure we remain competitive and can attract talent. It's draining for employees to be constantly told we aren't competitive and spend too much money... only to see large amounts of money spend on internal corporate video, promo newsletters, endless meetings. Hire supervisors who actually have experience in the processes they manage. Hire supervisors who are willing to promote change and growth. Massive change needed to revise the job descriptions/requirements; The majority of jobs that require a "p.eng" are simply worded that way to keep jobs classified as non-union (Engineers who haven't used a stamp or signed their name in a decade). This limits the career growth of employees who are clearly skilled enough to progress into these roles but lack a couple of letters after their name.
