Pros

Vale is one of the biggest mining companies in Canada. I worked at the Port Colborne refinery; they are all nice people. As an intern, I expected to have received more guidance, but I guess the covid situation made things quite different for the management. Overall, Vale is a great place to gain mining experience and grow in your mining career

Cons

Questionable ethics in management. Lots of backscratching and back rubs. Pay is good but you need to "play" to move up. Lots do. You can still keep your nose clean and ignore the management cults, long lunches and business trips and collect your bonus and earn a good coin. The Brazilian bosses talk a good game about ethics but ignore the behaviour here in Sudbury.
