Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. We are aware of the article and the allegations. Please note all references to Wiley executives being booked are completely untrue. We are not aware of any actual police investigation. This apparently arises from a situation in India almost two years ago and the employee’s claims in this incident, which were taken quite seriously, went through a thorough investigation process including an industrial tribunal and review by an independent committee. The duly constituted panel found that the allegations were not supported by any credible evidence. Our HR executives managed the situation well and acted appropriately. We are currently working to address this false media report more formally with our legal counsel. We remain committed to creating an environment of respect and dignity toward each other and ensuring we all adhere to our standards for business and social conduct.

Pros

Stable, institutional company -- most colleagues have worked here (and/or within the publishing industry) 10-25 years; beautiful waterfront (Hudson River) view of Manhattan; supportive, honest, patient co-workers; challenging, fast-changing industry with persistent disruptions from Open Access/Open Science ...

Cons

Disconnect between inspirational CEO's vision, excited about prospects of innovative design thinking, and more mundane day-to-day objectives; Slow pace of web developers at recently-acquired Atypon's Literatum platform

Pros

Lovely people to work with Very intelligent staff, innovative and collaborative Very flexible working Active innovation scheme for all employees to collaborate and contribute ideas to the company roadmap Excellent Sports/Social opportunities Good Pension, Childcare, Deals with local businesses etc. Annual bonus and salary review scheme Nice office in Oxford Great if you're passionate about publishing

Cons

Continued outsourcing of technology results in redundancy of knowledge base for existing products Too quick to restructure to resolve problems without giving the previous restructure time to work Siloed mentality in some areas makes collaborative working difficult Lack of co-located teams can make you feel isolated (in IT roles especially) Trying to be a "Tech" company but not committing to it. Little career progression opportunites in IT

We too love the spirit of innovation and commitment to technology - particularly where they can be applied to publishing. Thanks for taking the time to write a well-considered review!
