      "The Place to Leave."

      Pros

      The colleagues. Great benefits. Plenty of time off.

      Cons

      Management routinely ignored the advice and counsel of the staff. Upper management created far too many middle management positions. Managers across the business were far too busy looking out for themselves. Managers that abused their power were never reprimanded. HR gave lip-service to staff complaints about treatment by managers. Executive staff had no idea how to run a non-fiction publishing house in 2015. Far too many staff left because of the way they were treated. Wiley turned from "The Place to Be" into "The Place to Leave."

      Pros

      Strong company values, feel as if you're doing good work to further education.

      Cons

      Internal reorganization which produced a lot of shifting of roles and responsibilities. Unfortunately, some employees were given roles for which they had limited experience or no training, leaving others to pick up the slack. Creating a lot of anxiety and stress for all involved.

      Pros

      Good benefits, but declining. Was a very stable and extraordinary publishing company for 200 years. Historically treated people very very well and many worked there for lifetime careers.

      Cons

      Dramatically changing company in a changing industry, reinventing themselves in some non publishing directions. Reengineering and restructuring changing much of the pros above.
