Pros

Fast paced, never bored, so much to do at all times, keeps you on your toes. Everything is black and white, have certain days for certain things and know what to do and what not to do.

Cons

Very toxic environment, higher management are ruthless and no one cares about you personally. Are scared to lose your job every second. Very low staffing budget which doesn’t align with the sales you bring in and the amount of tasking you need to do. (Heavily tasked focused and not customer focused) Everyone is stressed and tired. If your face doesn’t fit then good luck, they will have you out in any way they can do.

Worst. Retail. Job. Ever.

Pros

the free water refill in the pantry?

Cons

1. the job 2. the environment 3. the pressure 4. the training 5. the higher ups This job will really test your patience. Not only will you have to bear with your supervisors and manager, you also have to bear with the unreasonable expectations of the management (can’t blame customers since we are always lacks of staff or lack of experienced staff. So if any zara customers are reading this, please try to understand how exhausting it is to do everything at once while still have to put on a smile for customer service). The store always expect their part timers to learn most things themself or magically become knowledgeable about things. The pay is higher than usual retail jobs, BUT, at what cost? I’ve been working for quite a reasonable amount of time to see the different people working there and i would say, this job will really change your attitude in life. You will start hating everything around you (sadly, including yourself) for having to work here because of its high paying part timer rate. Everyday i go to work happy and come out stressed and depressed about life but no choice since living in Singapore as a lower income family, i have to earn more to feed myself. Some will say the higher ups are also stressed about working there but we’re both working to be able to live a comfortable life so why do you have to make it hard for others to do the same.

Pros

Honestly has to be some of the staff you meet.

Cons

There was downside in every area first of all when they say they will help with balancing its lie god forbid you try and cut your hours down not only do they wait months they pretend they never heard you say it. But increasing your hours can be done within the next week. Second is the most out dated self checkout machine for company that makes that much money can they not fix it instead of making everyone restart it only for it to break again( card machine or broken detagger) dont get on how your expected to manage 4 at time yet you got all those people asking for help at same time and wanting you to do every step. They could at least put better sign if their to cheap to keep old machines. There is no protection from customer hurting you the amount of times they have scratched my hand leaving blood and later a scar when they are taking their bags. yet managers have problem when you get plaster fake concern to ask where you got it then ignore you. Making staff carry handfuls of clothes thats clearly to heavy and causing our wrist to hurt just cause you wont clothes on shop floor faster and also leaving permanent marks on hand from where hangers rub against and also how are staff expected to know when their going on holiday and forcing us to book 6 months in advance or it gets booked for you. Managers especially hr one the fake nice and sarcastic replies dont go unnoticed by staff we know and also what is it with adding staff on socials we know you dont like us and when its our holidays they add us yet comment when they see they cant see hour stories we block you for reason before it becomes next gossip. And dont bother reporting managers to hr cause you can hear them all say they got each others back repeated by them many times in that staff room. And you would think these managers communicate with each other they will ask for to remove items especially heathy stuff around only for another manager to see it and say to move it back to its original area after they have rant at you. And also they favouritism if your new expect to be treated bottom of barrel they only like each other and few memeber they go out snd have drinks with dont bother joining the club. No air conn customers think its worse when their in there for hour imagine the stock room and yes they say air conn on but you can tell its not just more lies. That big screen behind the all the cashdesk as much as it messes with people eyes the heat it gives out is worse and imagine tryna ask for water break is end of world for staff that work behind there. And to top it of you are times for your break by minute your sent and you can imagine the amount of times you get stopped by customer which eats into your break and if your not back at 00 thats file not on your report. Good luck on being late even 1 minute gets written down which is stupid but it goes on your file even if they could see you and you had to help someone they expect you there atleast 5-3 in advance on top of them making you stay later in your own time cause you didn't complete the impossible standards that someone probably messed up the minute you walked of especially the dumb idea of having tables with bigger size at bottom i can assure you not that many get size 32 so imagine that table mess to grab the size at bottom.
