Pros

Largest social games network in the world Chance to become rich off stock (VP and C-staff only, not so much if you are an individual contributor) Big new building, very nice Free food ( however the quality had steadily gone down, but hey its free)

Cons

Zero processes for game design, engineering, creative, project management. Being told by my manager that if i am not at home sleeping, then i am here working. That is how i was welcomed to the team. Worst HR department i have ever witnessed. It was heartbreaking how much employees suffer due inability of this unprofessional group to do their job. HR one focus seems to be giving perks, bonuses and quarterly awards to themselves. When employees complained HR un-friended us in the lower pay grades, so as not to be to conspicuous. Operations really is a danger to this companies future growth. inept and callous, obviously more concerned about IPO , being the face of Zynga's humanitarian efforts and quarterly videos than being a real leader. All the ex Electronic Arts VPs. These are the very same people who ran EA into the ground 5 years ago. Now they have brought their same lack of initiatives to Zynga and it shows.

Pros

It is fun to work for a fast growing and successful company. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement.

Cons

No recognition of work done. No documentation. No communication of goals or objectives. Zynga does not care about their employees as humans nor treat them with any respect.

Pros

It was a great company to work for, they paid nice competitive salaries. Culture just a few years ago was top notch. I remember the feeling of going to studio to meet my mates, it was never just another "workplace" but a cool headspace with a bunch of closely tied friends who did something magnificent together. Gone.

Cons

1. This company engages in shady practices of quiet-firing seasoned employees to avoid severance pay by incrementally overworking, underpaying and restricting PTO use. 2. Lack of promotion opportunities, you might be selling your skills and expertise for same income as much younger team members who literally just graduated from university. 3. Inability to compete with the job market. Almost universally, fellow engineers get better offers from outside and leave in droves, while talent retention unable to counteroffer and takes it lightly. 4. It seems that the acquirer (Take2) has bought the company with the goal of dissolution. Division budgets are long gone, senior leadership unanimously left the building close to acquisition period. Some middle managers not investing neither interested in nurturing their teams health, performing just the bare minimum of moving tickets on the boards, skipping 1:1s, forgetting about their reports existence as soon as they wrap the call. Total lack of recognition and personal accomplishments. I see no clear picture where this business is heading after the acquisition.
