Pros

The work is interesting although can be transactional

Cons

There is very high turnover. Many of LSC staff are contractors so the high turnover may not be visible internally to HR. BP is known for supporting work life balance. The LSC has set working conditions created by the leadership team that are very different to the rest of BP. The work life balance is poor. BP offers flexible working but at the LSC employees are not permitted flexible working (very strict working hours of 9-5) or to work from home. Some of the leadership team do work from home. Better when busy is a LSC value that should be better when efficient. There are lots of unnecessary processes and trackers that don't add value. Resource is poorly managed. I would not recommend working here. Most people would be accustomed to a more forward thinking flexible workplace.

Pros

Good remuneration Opportunities for development early in career Some really smart people Lots of challenges

Cons

BP Australia has had 3 major restructuring in past 2.5 years - created poor environment for trust or respect, every one watching their backs, materially diminished development opportunities. The poor leadership and very slow decision making Lacks clear vision for the future Highly political- a lot of back stabbing and posturing especially in the Executive leadership team, decisions get made on what's best for individuals rather than the business Ignores or fails to address workplace impact on both physical or mental health of individuals due to high workload and reduced staff numbers

Pros

Pay was good considering how little responsibility given but all people, especially in senior positions had chip on shoulder

Cons

No budget to invest in development, empty promises, awful roles - no eye on development whatsoever. Also senior management incredibly arrogant
