They were very fair and wanted to get to know you.
Hired based on numbers, not as much character. They're looking for people who can push the sales. If you can show prior experience to closing, that's what they want to see.
I don't know how else to describe the "interview" except this: Very odd. Quick backstory: For personal reasons, I am looking to relocate, which also means leaving a job and company that I am incredibly happy at. Because of this, I have been incredibly selective about the companies and roles I choose to interview for (even pushed out my move date), and I was actually incredibly excited when I heard about Snack Nation.
After applying through LinkedIn, I received a call from a recruiter to set aside some time for a phone screen. Conversation was very strange, and recruiter was almost robotic. Felt like she was reading questions off a computer screen. In addition, she gave no background of herself or what her role was with the company.
Several of her questions made little to no sense, which made me question her knowledge of the company, role, and the sales process in general. Pushed very hard for me to attend a group interview in HQ city during the workday, and I politely asked if it would be possible to have a phone conversation with the hiring manager prior to doing so. She said she'd "get back to me" (never did).
The final thing that turned me off... Absolutely NO opportunity to ask questions at the end of the call. She ended the call very abruptly and said "thank you for your time, have a nice day" and hung up. As someone in a sensitive spot with my job search, I really would have loved the opportunity to ask the questions I prepared in order to make sure it was a match.
Funny thing is, when I went to look up the recruiter via LinkedIn, I couldn't find anyone by that name with ties to SnackNation (poor 3rd party staffer, perhaps?). Also received no follow up email confirming or denying whether I'd be moved forward or not. Heck, rereading all of this, I question whether I even interviewed with SnackNation at all.
