Interview
I was an Internal candidate.
Applied to the Engineer role multiple times.
Finally discovered that a degree is required despite "or equivalent experience" stated very clearly in the requirements. Despite significant time with the company (read years and years) they will not advance anyone to an engineer without a bachelors degree.
Heart breaking experience.
HR is extremely rude; verbally abusive. HR is not on your side as an employee. They do not care. They need to clean house with HR.
I thought I would have a career with Charter, but I see zero reason to stay with a company that does not lift up its own people. The HR issue is only going to get worse with the acquisition of Time Warner.
They would rather hire people with magical bachelors degrees of basket weaving from outside DOCSIS who know nothing about DOCSIS than the people who have been in it and know it who [ironically] do not make enough $ at Charter to afford to go to or finish out their college degrees, because for some reason having a bachelors equates to actual experience.

Interview
The interview process was quick they are always hiring because they have a high turn around retention rate for new employees and they are always gaining new companies and more customers.
You will interview first by phone and it's a normal phone "name a time scenario" then go to a on site interview.
I am told now they do group interviews but before you interviewed 1 on 1 with a supervisor and then with a manager.
They hired me the day of and I went into HR to do a swab drug test.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Spectrum (Denver, CO) in Apr 2015
Interview
Went through 2 phone interviews. they asked basic questions related to Computer Networking. After the two phone interviews I was flown to Denver Colorado. I did not accept the offer due to 58,000 not being enough to afford a apartment in Colorado. I tried to negotiate for a higher salary (65,000), but there is a rule that pre-existing employees cannot negotiate for a higher salary. When I tried to negotiate with the HR personnel, they were very rude, and threatened me with expulsion if I pressed the matter further. It was one of the most heart breaking moments of my life, and still haunts me to this day. It's hard to say no to your dreams....
