I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio in Jul 2016
Interview
Several months after applying, I was contacted via email to schedule a phone interview. First phone interview was with a recruiter, very nice, asked me some general questions about my background. Recruiter stated that before he could forward the interview to the hiring manager he had to check to see if they could hire in my state. A few weeks went by, and after I sent an email inquiring about the states, the recruiter replied saying that unfortunately they were not able to hire in my state. I've never heard of this issue, but I assume it means they would have to have some type of employment/payroll arrangements made in my state that they didn't have. For this reason, I wasn't offered to move forward with the process.

Question 1
What type of things have you worked on in the past?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2016
Interview
They arrange a phone discussion. Then, you interview with the hiring manager. Then, an interview with another TSE. Then, an interview with multiple people that lasts almost 5 hours. This is supposed to be on-site, but I was shunted to remote to work around their schedules. Technical issues at various times on both sides made this challenging. Then waiting around for the recruiter to get back with you and playing phone tag. You may be strung along for several days doing this.
Submitted my resume online through their website and got a response back within a week. I had two phone interviews, one with the recruiter and one with the hiring manager. The recruiter was nice and we got along well but the hiring manager's interview only lasted ten minutes and that was it.
