Pros

The artists care about what they are making and want to do their best and help other staff. If you are deemed worthy enough to work on a project you want, you might get a chance. Remote working is standard as the office is in an awkward town. Core hours

Cons

- Management will under bid tasks and blame artists or production when work isn’t done you see crunch. - HR gossip with artists and provide information that shouldn’t be given out. E.G, personal opinions on staff and reasons for disciplinary meetings. - HR are unhelpful and never in office, if you have a problem you have to E-mail a bucket E-mail and hope for a response in three days at minimum. If you are lucky, the current average response is three weeks. - Production are run thin as there isn’t enough in the team. - Not enough members of staff. Management rely on using freelancers that are found through LinkedIn the day before a project starts and majority of the time the artist isn’t suited for the job. - CEO/COO never come into the office, COO lives a 10 minute drive away from the office but doesn’t come in. - There is no management in office, if there is a problem then the staff have to either speak to the building management or wait for management to come in. - There is no benefits to working at Airship, you get barely enough to make a cup of tea every day. - Management have no experience in the video game industry and don’t keep up with the latest news from the industry. - Location of current office and new office are difficult to commute to. Management claim new office is in Manchester when it’s outside of Greater Manchester. - Not enough software licenses for the whole company to use, people have to message the whole office to ask for a spare license. - Staff are considered numbers. - HR don’t address rumours even when asked about them.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We take all feedback onboard to help us improve and provide an overall better experience for our employees. We are extremely saddened to hear that your experience isn't in line with that of our other crew members here. We have plenty of ways that our crew members are able to raise issues and provide feedback/suggestions such as Your Voice (which is completely anonymous) and of course contacting our People and Talent department, as well as your seniors/leads directly. We encourage open and honest communication here at Airship, and all of our employees should raise issues and concerns with us so that we are able to investigate further. I can assure you that our People Team uphold confidentiality regarding all employee matters. Our People Team will always ensure that they are available to meet with our crew and meetings aren't cancelled unless something urgent crops up, and a re-arranged meeting will always be scheduled back in. That being said, I cannot find any instance where a member of the People Team has cancelled a meeting request last minute without a follow up being arranged. It's disappointing that you haven't taken the opportunity to raise any of these concerns directly with us during your time here. If you would like to take this conversation offline, please contact our People & Talent team directly via email, where we will be happy to have a chat with you one-on-one about what you have raised here. Best wishes, Team Airship

Pros

Helpful coworkers and a nice office.

Cons

- Poor project planning from upper management. Too many projects with not enough artists. - Not enough experienced artists so juniors end up receiving no training and are just thrown into projects, with little to no help. - Internal tools are outdated - probations can be extended indefinitely in some cases. - Horrible crunch culture. People often work unpaid overtime.

Pros

Airship Images is art outsourcing studio, its quite small, but flexible and has a great record of work. Team members are great, more then just colleagues, a lot of support and help is always available, but its really up to you how far you go and how well you develop your relationship with the team. Its a great place to work and develop yourself as an artist if you are willing to. - Very high quality bar for hair and character art production - AAA titles to work on - Relocation assistance - Fruit, coffee and other supplies in a good, secure office space - Investing in people and tech to make work easier, if you need software or hardware or just wanna learn something there is flexibility and options to do that. - Great art resources - Flexible working hours - Fun lunch times with gaming sessions and pubs/dinners after work

Cons

- Some crunch when nearing milestones, but its getting better with each project
