      It Can't Get Any Worse

      Pros

      Cengage goes through highs and lows like most publishing companies, but some of the pros are: 1. decent work/life balance, depending on who your manager is you will receive assistance when you need it. 2. flexibility and some autonomy regarding decision making 3. Great sales partners and specialists---very knowledgeable folks

      Cons

      1. Poor mid level management (District Manager/Regional Manager level) 2. Favoritism exists big time 3. Salaries are not commensurate with experience and expertise 4. Unrealistic sales goals and goals are received after the selling season is over

      Cengage provides fantastic opportunities to advance and move around the company. As a large corporation, there are many of these opportunities.

      Cons

      Being an employee in a remote office (two large corporate offices plus many smaller branch ones) limits one to what positions are available
