      Great company to work for overall

      Pros

      Leadership tries to be forthright, transparent, and forward-thinking. Good culture overall. Professional but friendly. Work-life balance encouraged. Lots of smart people. Performance expectations are high.

      Cons

      Some employees are stuck in the past. Some aren't making mental switch to new publishing world. Lots of org changes over last year.

      Pros

      You can learn a lot there and the benefits are better than most big companies I have checked out. Working conditions and the HR department are superb. I have had great bosses, but sadly it seems the better the boss the sooner they get canned.

      Cons

      How management uses and then discards its middle and upper management employees is beyond description. If you don't mind never knowing when you will be kicked to the curb, go ahead and get a job there and then accept the promotions. I have watched too many valuable bosses be lauded one day and be out the door the next. That's why I am not interested in being promoted. I like what I do, but I don't like my employer.
