      Thankful for the experiences, but would never go back or recommend

      Pros

      This could be misconceived as a con, but living through the unstable, volatile and fast-moving marketing environment prepared me to handle anything, so I will always thank Cengage for that. I've taken the project management tenants/agency model learnings and have used it to carve out my niche in my new company.

      Cons

      The dev/tech side is emerging from a very dark period. It will be interesting to see how that ebbs throughout the company. Marketing leadership needs to get their heads on straight and take a good, long look at why they are losing people (and people with tenure). Kudos to the managers that acknowledge a departure and thank them for their contributions publicly as opposed to the all so common "un-personing".
