Pros

Great salary and benefits. Very good work/life balance. Lots of extra benefits for families (free school for kids, kid events, social clubs, etc.).

Cons

Some fights between the unions and upper management. You really need to understand what is this job about, because you will be doing it for many years, so be sure you like it before coming in!

Pros

Great international atmosphere, great working conditions and benefits and possibility to advance if you are productive and have a hand with people. Also great if you want to learn another foreign language. I suggest Spanish, since they dominate the EPO in numbers.

Cons

If you don´t like repetitive tasks, such as daily reading of patent applications, don´t bother.
