Pros

The people at EA are some of the brightest and most skilled in the industry. It is gratifying to work on a team that is focused on one task to build and ship a game. For the most part, there are no egos, just a push to do what needs to be done. This is in the Sims Division. Other divisions at EA for the most part are inefficient and disfunctional.

Cons

There is definitely a flag waving hierarchy here. If you don't toot your own horn, you will never get anywhere. I have seen the discrepancy in how people are promoted. There are managers that supervise one person. There are engineers who are unqualified yet squeeze thru the cracks because of the difficulty in training and evaluating them. The culture is broken and needs to be fixed.

Pros

The people, culture and technology! Working with some of the most talented engineers and artists in the industry is pretty amazing. The fact that we have a global presence provides opportunity for each any every employee. We ship phenominal titles and the consumers keep coming back for more. Your hard work will be recognized. JR has made some postive changes and they have escalated down to each studio.

Cons

Just like every other job there is the politics. Some times there may be too much red tape but that happens when you get corporate involved. We are passionate about developing hit games and should always keep work/life balance in mind.

Pros

Casual and fun work environment; great products; talented and passionate co-workers; personal satisfaction of working on something that people enjoy; highly challenging work managing iterative and creative development

Cons

Hit and miss success of videogames across the industry and at EA (spend 2 years of your life working on a product that is forgotten 2 months after release); long hours leading up to game release; managing younger, less professional employees at times can be an extreme challenge; turnover at some of the studios makes it more difficult to develop products to schedule
