      Pros

      At Extra Space Storage you clearly see a company that works well together. You are provided with knowledge, assistance, and a great feeling knowing you are appreciated. Great benefits for new employees and a good structure for being able to grow within the company. Your superior always listens to your concerns, and is very accommodating. I am proud to continue to work with Extra Space Storage and recommend this company for anyone looking for a great professional experience.

      Cons

      Customer service can sometimes feel overwhelming, however there are very easy ways to handle negative feedback or criticism. You must listen and stay clam. Hear what the problem is and instead of getting wound up, take a second to breath and try and help them out. Ultimately you are there to help in any way you can. If you feel tense, take a 5 minute break and calm down before continuing.

      Best Culture and Work Enviorment

      Pros

      A culture that listens to it's employees vs. a top down driven management culture. Empowers coworkers to "Think like an Owner" Higher than average pay for the industry, little things like a bonus, PTO, kind words, on the spot awards, Sundays off make a work atmosphere that is tops in the industry. While some companies have had to pay for a slogan to say "We Care" at Extra Space the investment made in each customer, site and coworkers demonstrates that this company really does Care. Extra Space provides not only the training to be successful but the support and tools to reach career success. Having worked at another Storage Company (10+years) I can say that Extra Space is hands down the leader in customer and coworker care in the industry. Wish I started here 20 years ago...

      Cons

      Work is challenging and demanding. Interview process is long as the culture is protected by every coworker. It is not just can you do the job but can you operate in a culture that is not fear driven management and can you drive and achieve results while demonstrating your soft management skills. These are not cons for the right people.

      Amazing and dedicated staff! Constant and continued opportunities for growth and advancement. Constant camaraderie and people supporting your efforts. Company is truly focused on customer centricity and making Extra Space Storage a great place to work for employees.

      Cons

      Quick advancement in the company could involve moving frequently. You will work hard, but this is something I see as a positive and love feeling like I did a full day's work!
