      Pros

      Company has always taken a very proactive interest in its employees well being and constructive enact policies geared to employee well being and work life balance. it encourages employee engagement and reinforces its corporate culture through action and not just talk. Great at hiring from within and encouarging upward mobility.

      Cons

      Lack of diversity at the corporate level. Terrible at retaining and sustaining a reasonable proportion of minority (black) representation. No minority represented at corporate management Level which pretty deplorable.

      Pros

      This is the first company that I've worked for where you're more than just a headcount. The managers truly care about you as a person, and work hard to keep you happy and engaged. They maintain an upbeat and positive environment, and I appreciate that there are always opportunities to learn and be challenged. Everyone's encouraged to pursue growth in their career, whether it's applying for a promotion within the department, or in another department within the company. This is a great company with a great future!

      Cons

      For a company that boasts about it's "flexibility", most of the accounting department is denied that by being stuck using desktops. Changing this should be a priority for management in order to remain competitive and to stay in line with their goal of improving efficiencies and scalability. The benefits need work, particularly the healthcare benefits. The plans and the cost for what's being offered are terrible. This is an extremely important piece of remaining competitive in the job market, and I can honestly say that I almost didn't take this job because of how awful the healthcare is.

      Pros

      Love the work life balance that is here at Extra Space. Everyone here is friendly. 2 weeks for paternity. Great corporate parties. Modern corporate office. Company continues to have a lot of growth.

      Cons

      I wish the health insurance was better here. Would like to have more retention of employees in this department by offering more competitive pay and benefits.
