Pros

Work from home policy is good

Cons

Unnecessary training on social and ethical dynamics that just aren't relevant for writing a metals commentary

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad to hear you appreciate our work-from-home policy. We also want to acknowledge your concerns around our training initiatives. At Fastmarkets, we believe that fostering a respectful, inclusive, and socially aware workplace is essential—regardless of role or function. Our social and diversity training programs are designed not just for compliance, but to strengthen collaboration, promote understanding, and support a culture where everyone feels valued. That said, we always welcome constructive feedback and will continue evaluating our training programs to ensure they’re meaningful and relevant to all team members. Thank you again for your input.

Pros

There are talented, kind, interesting people who work here. There are less of them than there used to be.

Cons

Grand ambitions are trumpeted without the knowhow or sometimes the attention span to execute. Senior leadership, a very tight circle, is comically defensive in the face of any criticism, even when it is coming from people who really like their job and are trying in spite of management's best efforts to succeed. Benefits are being stripped and employees are being expected to do more with less. The company presented during town halls bears no resemblance to reality. The turnover I've witnessed is more significant than any job I've ever worked and management's response is straight out of Mad Magazine - "What, me worry?" No one should have allowed this company to stand alone. It will certainly fall down.

Thank you for your feedback. While we appreciate your continued contributions, we are disappointed to hear that your experience has not aligned with the direction we are working toward. We recognise that ambitious goals require strong execution, and while we don’t always get it right, we are actively working to improve. Constructive criticism is valuable, and we want to foster an environment where employees feel heard and respected. We remain committed to balancing company sustainability with employee well-being and we are in the process of rolling out a new global benefits platform. Change takes time, and we encourage employees to engage directly with leadership to voice concerns and propose solutions. We sincerely hope that despite your frustrations, there are still aspects of your role and team that you find fulfilling. If you’re open to it, we encourage a direct conversation to address your concerns in a way that can lead to meaningful improvements.
