Fastmarkets Events: a nightmare from start to finish

Pros

Lovely, hard working colleagues and an interesting business (on paper). The only other pro was leaving.

Cons

FM events - a nightmare that has taken me months to get over. Chaotic leadership coupled with crazy workload equals a horrendous culture in the events team. Toxic does not cover it. HR complicit/not interested, and people pushed to the brink of sanity (several leaving due to severe stresss). They love to say it's 'a fast-paced environment' - but this is a cop out on every front. SLT focused on lining their pockets with the incetives dangled by the private equity owners - who are lining up to sell again (think more work, less resources). In over 30 years of work I have never seen the like. Be warned.

Opportunities to further career in house. Great managers. Diverse and inclusive. Global mindset. Really took care of employees during pandemic, providing safe environment to work.

The business has a clear strategy which is communicated regularly across the business. The culture is very open with a strong sense of accountability and puts people's welfare at the forefront.
