Pros

- Colleagues - Work From Home setting & 12pm log out & flexibility in general.

Cons

- Poor Salary + Commission changed since new owner and this was not clearly communicated acorss the global teams. Cant earn much as a sales. - Awful communication and one-blanket solution for all, London Centric and not looking to go beyond that point. - Not much investment doen for the employees with minimal increase during salary review even you overachieve. - Just not so sure anymore where is this company going.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Its particularly disappointing to read your concerns, given the exciting period of change our business is going through. To start, let me confirm that our approach to salary and commission has not changed because of a change of ownership. As you will be aware, in 2022 we launched a new sales commission scheme, prior to any acquisition. This scheme was updated this year, based on feedback, but we do recognise we were late in communicating these changes for 2023. For 2023 we have committed to 2 pay reviews and we are acutely aware of the external financial pressure and market conditions our employees are experiencing. Benchmarking continues to be an ongoing exercise across all out teams. Investment also goes beyond salary as we are investing in learning, development, career paths and wellbeing. Given the global nature of our business and the way in which we work flexibly, it’s disappointing that you feel it is a London centric business. If you can share specific feedback on why you think this, that would help us to adapt and respond. While your feedback is very welcome, if you are an existing employee, I would ask you to raise these concerns with your manager or our HR team, so we can understand your concerns in more detail and more importantly talk about how we can address the issues. Thanks, CHRO

De-evolution of a once great company

Pros

-Strong market presence makes Fastmarkets a standard on price contracts in most industries they cover -Great benefits (USA) -Work from home flexibility (Globally)

Cons

-Micromanagement has become an issue. They're not a "results based" company. "How you get there" matters just as much. -Low pay across the company. We were told "This is not the place where you'll make top dollar". -Continued high growth expectations with little to no investment (especially for forest products). Many customers are experiencing price fatigue. -Outsourcing certain jobs that were held by long tenured employees (10+ years) for cost reductions. -Slow moving internal processes (raises, approvals, legal reviews, etc...)

Dear Former Colleague, Thank you for your review. Even when feedback is not positive, it is important for us to have the opportunity to respond and take on board what we can do differently. Let me start by thanking you for the positive comments about our benefits and the flexibility we offer. Our business is a market leader, and our growth has been driven by significant investment in our people. We evaluate our success through feedback we receive from our employees through channels such as this and our own internal employee engagement surveys. We are proud that our employee net promoter score (eNPS) has moved up 50 points in just four years and our turnover is the lowest it has been for years. But we are not complacent and will strive to improve further. I am disappointed that you feel micromanagement is a feature at Fastmarkets. We have invested in development programmes and executive coaching for every individual who has people management responsibilities. I will take your feedback and ensure that this remains a focus area within our training. Over the last two years we have been very aware of the financial pressures that people face. To support this challenge, we regularly benchmark roles; we have offered additional support where individuals have faced hardship due to their personal circumstances; we paid many employees an additional bonus during covid; and this year have committed to offering all staff two pay reviews. Together with a very competitive benefits package, a flexible working policy, and a 4.5-day working week (albeit non-contractual) I believe we demonstrate the value we place in our people and that we genuinely do put our people first! Finally, I would also like to respond to your reference to ‘outsourcing certain jobs’ which is really not the case. We are an international and diverse business and are using our global footprint across all our locations to access the widest possible pool of talent to find and hire the employees with the skills we need as we expand our team to support our growth ambitions. Once again thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and for the being a part of this business for more than eight years. I wish you the best for the future. Best, Raju Daswani CEO, Fastmarkets

Thank you for your feedback and 4 star rating. We really do appreciate and value it! In recognition of your feedback regarding compensation, as a business we review on a regular basis benchmarking data to help our business identify the most effective ways to make use of our employees talent. This also allows Fastmarkets to identify areas for improvement to get on par with the growth and success of other businesses in our industry.
