Pros

Casual, flexible atmosphere conducive to creativity Previous management was slow to transition from legacy media and out-of-date business practices, but the people in charge now seem to know what's up and are taking us in the right direction The US business is built on massive brands and platforms but is small in terms of personnel, so there is ample opportunity for individuals to have an impact, make a difference, and advance Very flexible in terms of hours, working from home, and scheduling time off

Cons

Although Future has turned a corner and is making great strides in the right direction, it's still a company in transition so some things are being figured out as we go. This isn't so much a critique as an unavoidable fact for a company that's turning things around. Benefits used to be better, although I'm not sure how today's package stacks up to what other companies normally offer

Pros

Future has evolved over the last ten years from a magazine publisher that also operated websites to a true hybrid media group with a strong digital footprint. That evolution has not been without challenge, but Future has navigated the transition in ways less nimble publishers could not. I started with Future with one year of experience in magazine publishing and have had the opportunity with this company to grow my skill set to include online, social, mobile, channel, experiential, and custom. Future offers plenty of opportunity for career growth and advancement, not to mention great benefits, time-off policies, etc. Management is very accessible and always open to employee ideas.

Cons

The Future team is lean and mean. It is not a place for the phrase: that's not my job. It takes flexibility to succeed in this workplace, because as the media world evolves, so do job descriptions.

Pros

Work from home two days a week. Breakfast one day a week. A paid week off during the holidays. A company that feels like a startup feel but with a profitable business model and no frivolous spending. Work with talented and smart people. Challenging but management making sure you succeed. No egos but be prepared to qualify your work.

Cons

Health benefits are standard but not free. The location is in South San Francisco (okay if you like yachts). Could use more after work mixers but assume it's because of location.
