      Regardless of job title, if you have a good idea, management will be open to it The company is growing fast and going places Nice, friendly people

      Cons

      Beginning to lose collegiate atmosphere due to fast growth Less 'sexy' than working on a trading floor (but also less stressful and less hours) London employees currently in three locations - however we will consolidate in a brand new office at year-end. Can't wait...

      Markit gives a chance to young people to take ownership, rewards initiates, encourages a learning environment

      Pros

      - amazing working environment with lots of young people, - great management that challenges you and pushes you outside of your comfort zone, - encouragement to take ownership of your own product, - company that appreciates and rewards initiatives, - easy way to move teams or location, even internationally, - visionary exec team, - good mentoring structure, easy way to network, approachable management team, - very good exposure to clients, nice way to make industry connections, - great way to learn all about derivates and the CDS industry, - good HR support when needed, - a lot of social activities that really makes you feel part of a team.

      Cons

      - a lot of work and investment demanded, great way to move up but not great for work balance - no 401k or retirement plan, - option plan is not that great, - no formal training program, works for certain people but might not be for everybody.

      Pros

      Provided a great potential for career development and financial market knowledge and relationship building especially for ambitious professionals who started before 2006. This is valid for Sales, Management and Product Development roles. Good equity share options - made sense for employees who joined before 06. Recognition based on achievement.

      Cons

      - Benefits (medical insurance, holidays, gym etc) - not good enough; - After 2008 - it become very political, administration and bureaucracy have increased tremendously - Freedom to be creative - decreased significantly after 08 - Not a great place for support staff - Random promotions - Lack of coordination between the various product groups - Unclear senior management policy regarding business development strategies - Carrer development potential for new hires - mainly for experienced professionals coming from competitors or Investment Banks but not so much for unexperienced graduates.
