Pros

Young, dynamic, motivational environment. Lots of opportunities to travel and explore a variety of development issues. Flexible management and opportunities to move from one practice to another

Cons

Lack of processes and supervision. You feel alone most of the time. High pressure to deliver but little recognition. Lack of clear responsibilities and reporting lines create confusion, inefficiencies and tensions.

Pros

Lots of work experience in International Development

Cons

This was the most toxic work environment I have ever worked in. I wish I could give the company 0 stars instead of 1. It is extremely fast-paced to the point where people don't care about each other, cut-throat, and people throw each other under the bus. This is especially toxic to BIPOC people. I saw myself and other BIPOC being treated like we were never enough because it was hard to keep up with the fast pace. The company is trying to make changes with a lot of valuable internal work, but they are missing the point with the fast pace and lack of humanity. The company also showed statistics and Black and Latino employees are barely getting promoted, so it is not recommended for you, however the statistics fair much better for Asians. I know they are trying to make a difference, but it is too slow. I identify as a non-Asian BIPOC, and I didn't get a raise in 2 years there even when an inflation-adjustment was promised company-wide. In addition, I always completed my work, but I was always made to feel I was never doing enough. In addition, I felt tracked on my work computer at every moment, and it was extremely stressful. It actually drove me to have several mental health issues.

Pros

*Working in a field where you feel you are contributing to a global good. *Global travel working with committed staff in countries *Innovative work

Cons

*Major disconnect between headquarters and country related projects in information. *Communication is non-existent and has been a major issue for years. Major issues are hidden from staff and only addressed if necessary - staff have no idea of corporate outlook. *Lack of accountability by senior management and brushed under the rug *Communications between Operations teams and actual Project teams seems to be a major hindrance - the left and right hand don't know what they are doing. *Cross regional work (eg. US to Europe) is tied up in administrative red tape that is impossible to get work moving
