There’s good and bad

Pros

The potential to learn and grow your knowledge base is endless, by far the best value I’ve seen since the budget for expansion is considerable. Office is one of the better offices I’ve worked in as an engineer. A lot of good people at this company

Cons

Upper management has lost sight of the employees as a whole and are more focused on expanding the company and promoting unhealthy work-life-balance to their employees (ie working long hours day into the wee hours of the night, sometimes without expectation of compensation. We also lost several employees and were expected to pick up their work load, to the point that management has allowed us to suffer for years at a deficit without ever giving us the people we needed as more and more work keeps getting added to our plate.

Great compensation and benefits Great working conditions

Cons

Being a Monopoly, it opens the door for unprofessional and abusive managers, mostly Managers to Senior Directors. They collude to create their little kingdoms. Mainly a kick- or lick-it work environment with very little appreciation or respect for Education or Professionalism. "Senior Directors with Phycology degrees in charge of Engineers making advanced technology decisions." Advancement is based upon playing their "power" game, and their word always wins, even if they lie. They can do it because you must agree to Arbitration before being hired.

Pros

Benefits are decent, pay is better than it used to be if you are an external hire. If you are okay working 35 hours, you can probably get away with that with little pushback.

Cons

Outdated technology, the systems and devices you use are horrible. The overwhelming majority of “problems to solve” are either political or process issues. Most technical challenges are far out of reach of being acknowledged, let alone worked on. Leadership is poor. Very little cohesion and strategic planning. Constant knee jerk reactions and over correction. Frequent infighting, allowing peers to fail to prove points. All decision making is done by middle management. No real delegation of problem solving to individual contributors, irrespective of their qualifications.
