Pros

I worked with Charter for 3 years and loved my job. My immediate team and manager were great. The benefits are really good. You get 3 weeks of vacation upfront in Jan. Health Insurance is great. You also get Progyny benefits. Overall, I would have stayed if I was in a different team.

Cons

Upper leadership was just the worst. There was a lot of finger pointing and blame placing. Instead of root cause analysis, they were always interested in knowing who's fault it was so they could blame the team. Very toxic culture. To add to that, Charter failed to treat employees right when the pandemic started. Many people left when they were forced to go back to the office and Charter couldn't care less. They just wanted to decorate their new Stamford office with their employees. However, I have heard that some other departments/teams/locations have been more understanding. So I guess it all depends on which team you're on.

Pros

Pays enough to handle some bills if your rent isn't too high, nothing crazy. Sometimes they have cupcake/taco/nacho day, and you get "free" snacks, obviously you still have to work for this near slave driver level company to get those. You have a team, and that's cool I guess.

Cons

You're expected to go to the bathroom ONLY on your breaks, so if you know, you're a regular human with organs, then you're going to be reprimanded for not harming yourself and holding it for hours on end. The policies of the company are circular and ask you to lie to customers flat out. You WILL lie to customers or you will suffer for it. The technology you use on a day to day basis is insanely outdated, it hardly works and your tech support often doesn't even know why it has the issues it has. The metrics that are asked of you are nigh impossible to meet. I asked one of the leadership how many people in this position make it to "Rep 3" which would be the final promotion in the position, and there were less than 10 in my entire center of over 500 agents, this is because the metrics are nonsense and you will have to sacrifice one to meet another, you have no way to win this game other than sheer luck, because you can't control the kinds of calls you get in. Spectrum clearly steals from customers and adds things without their permission but blames the customer and their banks for it anyway. Trust me, work this job, and you'll understand what I mean. Leadership is comprised of people that are probably less skilled and educated than yourself, and they are NEVER on your side. They are actively trained not to be. There are countless other reasons why you absolutely shouldn't work here unless you just can't find $18/hr somewhere else. Just go somewhere else.

Pros

Nothing good at all to report

Cons

Upper management doesn’t know how to get things done. They don’t care about customer service. Treat employees like crap and don’t pay well at all.
