Pros

- Gain valuable sales experience - 6% 401k matching plus 3% in long term equities - Generally positive office culture - Flexible scheduling if you give advanced notice - The job is easy if you know how to use computers and can learn how to talk to people - Okay health insurance

Cons

- Selling mobile phone plans is a condition of employment, you are required to pitch them every call regardless of the situation and if you don’t achieve high enough you’ll get cut. Closing a sale will take 30-60 minutes and will net you ~$11 IF the customer gets 4 lines of unlimited data, keeps the plan for 60 days, AND you’re at least in the 80th percentile of your shift group. Not only will you probably make less but you could take 4-8 more calls in that timeframe which means you LOSE money doing it due to the opportunity cost. - Extremely corporate, this is going to tie in with most of the cons - Productivity is heavily monitored - The best policy is to assume every chat with a coworker and call with a customer is being listened to - You’ll sometimes get verbally abused by customers, as long as you don’t take it personally it’s not really that bad I actually kind of laugh to myself about the ridiculous things people will say.

Pros

Great compensation and benefits, strong work life balance.

Cons

The politics in the company are almost unbearable. It is a speak when you are spoken to environment that feels like a throwback to the 1950's. Ideas and creative thinking are not encouraged.

Pros

You will get an experience. It's not necessarily effective experience that should be taken with you.

Cons

1. As a DevOps, Ops, Analyst you are a second class citizen. You will be treated with no respect for your time, or ability. You will take care of, and parent, developers, project managers, software delivery managers, production operations teams. While doing everyone's job for them, you will be devalued by your upper management. They will let your people rot from 20 to 0, you will pick up the slack, you will not get a promotion, you will not get paid more. A VP will tell you, you dont have the chops to do the job responsibilites that you are already doing (They have no clue on what they are talking about). I implore anyone IT/OPS (DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, etc..) to stay away from this dysfunctional, developer driven, ``Engineering`` department. Do not believe any managers input on your technical ability at Charter/Spectrum.
