Pros

am working for Charter as a former Time Warner Cable employee and I do feel fortunate to be one of the persons that does get to keep my job. So far there is still Good compensation and benefits, at least in the beginning of the merger transition they have not cut pay, although there have been rumors that pay cuts will come. They have also been generous with 401k and other benefits.

Cons

A tough culture to work in, very bureaucratic and much micro management. Not very concerned with employees well being or family life. People are expected to work long hours and put company first.

Pros

There are pockets of good people at the company, but they seem to get lost in the political turmoil from management (notice I did not say "leadership").

Cons

Management is not flexible in thinking, or open to the expertise of others, if it conflicts with their (old) ideas. Creating a toxic and abusive work environment is allowed (HR turns a blind eye). There are no priorities or clear communication of work priorities, so lots of people end up doing busy work and creating process roadblocks for those who are trying to advance features for customers.

Pros

Good Pay and the potential to rebuild the company in to a 1st class provider serving the customers and employees. Because of the potential of where I see this company going post-merger, I do recommend this company - this thought may change over the next year!! Be cautious but ready to do your part when you are making your decision to work here!

Cons

Upper management seems to not care about getting quality talent - if they cared, then my post would be clear with that thought. Human Resources has been horrible in their handling of relocations and hiring qualified personnel; this may be due in part to Executive Leaderships dismal handling of the merger process (e.g., lack of constant communication to all employees within vertical, repeatedly bad salary/relocation packages distributed out to the same employees causing low morale/high concerns for those willing to relocate, employees held from other internal opportunities even if simply relocating under the same position, etc) . The issues listed above are not difficult to avoid, even in a large merger such as this one, but it must be approached with patience and extreme clarity by Executive Leadership and their middle management. An external HR/Recruiting agency should have been brought in immediately during the tale end of the business merger process to understand the post-merger company and therefore assist in the relocation and hiring process... There are other concerns that needed to be addressed to allow the merger to go better than it has, but its too much to include here. Executive Leadership are not willing to detail the entire bonus structure until 2018 which is odd and a huge concern for those who had a bonus structure pre-merger!
