Local reputation is still somewhat low (due to public perception of genetic engineering crops and pesticide use) for Syngenta which can impact personal life.

No long-term strategy, initiatives change constantly, as do safety initiatives, software tools, expectations and company organization. People don't seem to matter much to upper management, there are frequent layoffs as changes occur and there is no strategic direction (or if there is, it's not communicated well to anyone outside the board room). The constant change creates a lot of extra work and cornfusion. Oops, I meant confusion. Salaried employees should expect to work 60+ hours per week in Hawaii, maybe elsewhere as well.
