Worse company in India

Pros

Wiley is a global brand, but in India this is a worse company anyone can ever work in. The kind of attitude which the management has towards employees is that of slavery. Vikas Gupta has no respect for any person and treats every employee in the company as his personal slaves. Only people who would help him in his personal business would be favored. If you are happy being a slave then this is the company to join.

Cons

Wiley would not have a business at all in few years in India, due to poor management. Companies lose business and good resources due to bad management. The MD of India office is arrogant and has no empathy on how to talk to people. Only if you are a favorite of the management, then only you would get growth in the company and if you need growth, then be ready to bootlick your boss. Also, there is 0 work life balance. You are expected to work 24/7 in all departments except the MD.

Thanks for the review. Sorry to hear you feel like you're not supported. While I can't speak for everyone I can assure you that that isn't the intent of the company! If you're having trouble with specific people in management please reach out to your HR business partner. They can help address the situation and maintain confidentiality during the process.

Pros

The Boston office is home to a lot of great people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. There's a great community, especially among the younger, early career people in the office. You get 20+ PTO days your first year, which is nice.

Cons

The title is a bit misleading. At Wiley, an "editorial" assistant and the higher level "editors" do only administrative and account/client management work. There is no editing involved, and the writing is limited to writing emails and proposals. They're up-front about that, but some who see the title and are looking for creative work might be a bit put-off. $32,000 salary is low--especially if you have loans and want to live in the city.

Thanks for the review! It really helps us gain perspective on what people think and how we can best make changes and improvements. As many on Glassdoor have said, the people at Wiley are the best and we couldn't agree more.
