Pros

Nice working in a central location Uniform are included for free You receive dedicated training Cultural diversity of staff

Cons

Everything about this place is designed to make you feel miserable. Management do not display an ounce of care towards you or your humanity -- I had a coworker come in late to work because he was in a car crash a few minutes before and their response was that he needed to work on his punctuality. -- It was R U OK day and they told us that it's okay to feel mentally unstable but make sure that you time it on your breaks. When you're on the floor you're working. -- I had managers make mistakes and then lie so that the blame was put on me Let's talk about the hours and discounts: - You are to be completely available so they can give *usually* only around 3-4 4 hour shifts a week. - You are not allowed to have more than 20 hours a week unless it's during sales which it goes up - they'll most likely cancel your shifts that week the day before. - Casuals do not get any discounts Customer service - I genuinely care for the customer's experience as every retail assistant has the opportunity to improve someone's day. - At Zara you will be watched and scolded for spending more than 5 minutes assisting a customer. - So when I assisted customers and showed care towards them, they were genuinely shocked I do not wish the unhappiness I felt working at this place on anyone.

Pros

You get to work with some amazing and very diverse teams. Some managers and staff are fun to work with and very supportive. I got to meet some of my friends through work who I am still in touch with after leaving the company.

Cons

The company expects you to be able to act as a general manager, operational manager and support other departments while you are in the middle of solving a customer issue. And also trying to cover shifts for 5 employees who called in sick or didn't show up to work. The company doesn't provide the departments with enough labour hours in order to run the floor according to their "standards", so the managers end up doing most of the work as floor staff.

Pros

The only pros is that you can easily make friends with fellow workers on floor or cash

Cons

The most unorganized work environment I've ever been to! I got reffered by a friend so pretty much got hired on the spot but I specifically told them the days I needed off and that my availability might change because of certain family situations. They gave me the ok and told me I wouldn't be working till the week after. I then get a text from my friend saying that I am working on the same week I got hired. No email, no call, like how did they expect me to know and come in? I told the manager there what had happened and I got zero response and got scheduled the day I requested off and got accepted for. It was just tossed aside and I got assigned more work. I t was a very tough first day since two people didn't show and all the pressure was on me but I'm still learning and I wasn't even getting my questions answered like what's my employee number or if I need a walkie. They also denied my change in availability which honestly wasn't that bad( I just asked for opening shifts on the weekends till 3pm so it's still 5hrs which is the minimum for me) but no they put me on for more than 8 hrs almost everyday leaving me to be home at 11pm. I was getting told two different things at the same time not knowing who to listen to. Even the store layout was confusing. I just tried to do my job and help customers with the knowledge I had on the first day. Overall, don't work here unless you want to be under a lot of stress and want to go home crying Most people I talked to were quitting anyways, even my friend and I think that already says a lot
