Pros

Hybrid work setting is the only highlight.

Cons

Terrible insurance. Management will outright bully you as well as HR. I’ve seen a few comments in the Glassdoor reviews in relation to bullying and there’s replies from the company stating they take bullying seriously. They don’t as I was PERSONALLY bullied by a manager at Argus and they were assisted by someone in HR. The only thing they take serious as far as bullying is how well they can do it. It got to the point where another person in management told me what was happening and to defend myself. I ended up on anxiety meds thanks to the manager that bullied me. I’ll never forget the day that person decided to talk about me during a meeting with my peers but when I spoke up for myself, they changed the subject. Thus ramping up the bullying. You will also not be trained properly. When I was first brought on, I received no training. No training = under-performance. This went on for 10 months. Then the manager who bullied me started saying I wasn’t as far along as another coworker. Guess what? That person was trained. See how that works? You will be drastically underpaid. CSM start at 60-65k. The average starting salary for CSM is around 80k. But from leaderships own mouth, they want to hire the best talent for the least amount of money. I did not get all of my commission money. I was stalked via Linkedin. I’m not sure if people know how that site works, but you can see who visits your page and how many times. (It was a lot.) This was in reference for when they thought I had a second job. One of the ways they tried to get rid of me was to say I was working a second job. It was a literal AFTER work unpaid internship from 6pm-8pm on Thursday. You know what I soon found out? Numerous people have 2nd PAID jobs there. I was singled out for the hybrid work policy when my coworkers were also not coming in the required days(another bullying tactic). That was a fun one. Turnover at this company is insane. I have never seen this before. It’s always with a particular department as well. Guess who runs that department? The person that bullied me.

Pros

Great facilities, free coffee and fresh bananas. Makes you feel welcome like a golden office cage.

Cons

Working for Argus was very Toxic, I always felt uncomfortable, unappreciated and undervalued. Americas Management has poor communication and I always felt bullying or talked down to. Management takes advantage of their power and make their sales staff feel inferior by bullying them. There is a lack of intelligent leadership. Fellow employees love to spread rumors and are constantly gossiping which makes it harder to perform at your duties. It only took only 6 months to see how dis-functional this company is and realize that I was not excited about going to work anymore. I felt that I was part of a stabbing competition similar to an environment to The Hunger Games" . Stabbing is highly encouraged. Management communicates very poor, starting from the CEO who can't speak in public and ends with the founder senior employees who have only worked in one single company all their life and not having the experience to take Argus to the next level. Americas Management and employees make up two completely separate groups, interaction is one-way in which the commercial manager tells the underling what to do. Nobody talks openly to HR and management just pretend that nothing is dark and rotten.

Hubris and lack of direction

Pros

Benefits are great, and as one past colleague told me - "Everyone just walks around and talks to each other, I don't know how anything gets done...my kind of place."

Cons

Don't expect to move into higher level positions, and forget about training and refining your skills. You will not be prepared to move your career into a higher level after working here. Look at some of the LinkedIn profiles of past employees and you will see what I am talking about. Argus claims to have offices all over the world, but some of those offices only have two employees. Management will never tell you the truth, or anything that they have planned. They do not care about your input. It is very questionable how mid-level managers made it to their positions - nothing impressive and a lot of hubris. Many of the people I met at the company do not come from very reputable or strong academic backgrounds. Also, many of the people come from very very random industries that have nothing to do with what they are selling/reporting. In fact, most of the sales people are pushing products they know absolutely nothing about, and the people writing the reports/products, know absolutely nothing about the markets (they try to tell the industry what to be focusing upon) - it is amazing people buy their services - Platts and IHS are much better. So if you want a low-wage job, a place where no one will value your input, managers who think they know everything but don't, no transparency, no opportunity to move up or become trained, a group of colleagues that are not very knowledgable about their industries of focus or well educated - then Argus is your place...Don't waste your time with this company. They are way ahead of themselves and don't have the right managers in place, and refuse to hire talent.
