Quit after 6 weeks.

Pros

Coworkers are nice. If you like their products you get extreme discounts, especially on discontinued stuff.

Cons

Hours, hours, hours. I only got 8-12 hours a week here regardless of how much I was selling (I consistently doubled my sales goals). When I realized my paycheck would only come out to $50-$80 a week here, I quit and got a different job where I actually got real hours. Basically this is a company that hires many part-time employees and pays them horribly to save money instead of having 4 or 5 really great full time employees and having to give them benefits. Most of my coworkers had to have 1-2 other jobs even if they lived rent free. I had serious allergies while working here also, since you are constantly surrounded by artificial fragrances. The stock room was dangerous and disorganized. They spent more time teaching me how to deal with shoplifters than the benefits of their products and how to talk about them. One of the most atrocious things about this company is the "call-ins" where you are scheduled usually in the middle of the day (12-4 or 1-5)and you are to call the store an hour before the shift would start to see if they would even need you. If you weren't needed, you could go about your day. The problem was that I was scheduled so many call-ins that I could never make plans, but I was never actually called in to work. Not once.

Pros

Your coworkers can become your best friends. At a store level you become very connected with the people you are working with day in and out even if you are just part time. Management tried to keep things fun and upbeat. Face paced environment around holidays and Christmas can be a blast to work through. There are times when you will want nothing more than to be at the store. Whether that is to be with with coworkers talking or helping the store to succeed in some way.

Cons

The company at the corporate side needs to slow down and think through some of its decisions. Changing sales and promotions on a dimes notice is not good for the customers or on the associates who have to go through the work to rearrange everything. They ask for a lot out of associates who are only paid a little above minimum wage. It becomes very frustrating to but a lot of work into a project to find out the next day an update was sent across that means that project is to be changes or taken down completely. Around the holidays management needs to take more time to find associates who will be right for the job. There is too much chaos that happens when there is little to no training done for holiday employees which only causes more problems down the road.

Customer Sales Lead

Pros

The discount is nice and you get it both at Bath & Body and Victoria's Secret. I worked at several different stores for the company and my co-workers were always awesome. You get a decent amount of free product, but you can tell the company has gotten a lot more stingy with it.

Cons

The Customer Sales Lead position comes with a lot of responsibility without the pay (and no benefits if you work part time). I had a lot of the same responsibilities as the co-managers, held accountable for most of the same measures, and got paid a fraction of what they did. Even though I was part-time, I often worked over 30 hours a week, again with no benefits. Every time I asked for less, they would go down for a week or two and pop right back up to 30+ because of "business needs". Management turnover was very high and you often found yourself taking on additional responsibilities outside of your job description. Upper management expects more of you then you can possibly do with the hours/payroll you are given. Don't expect to be promoted, even if you get excellent marks on your reviews. They will always find some reason why they have to hire from the outside. All in all it really depends on the the management at your store. The first store I worked for (as a sales associate) was fine. Both had store and co-managers who had been with the company 5+ years. If interviewing for a management position, try to find out how long everyone has been there, if they worked their way up, and the general management turnover for the store. It will really make a difference. If the store has recently been remodeled, I would not take a position there.
