      Worst Company Ever!

      Pros

      Work life balance, laid back work environment and not a lot of customers to deal with on a daily basis.

      Cons

      There are so many cons at this company, the company prides itself as being a great place to work; however I ran into a lot of issues. The other managers lie on you. Also their training is a joke and you feel like you cannot speak up on anything and you are walking on eggshells. I moved from another state to accept a management position with them and wished I never did! Also the pay is below average for their upper management positions. You can get treated more fairly and get better pay with another company. Please think twice before taking any type of job with this company.

      Pros

      Extra Space is a well run machine. The executive team has a solid business strategy and they understand the industry.

      Cons

      Accounting staff of 25+ is disposable. The property accountants are hired as an entry level position and there aren't very many senior positions to grow into. Turnover is very high.

      Pros

      I enjoyed most of the coworkers at the corporate office.

      Cons

      HR's motto is to hire the youngest and healthiest, if you fit into that category you might survive for a while at Extra Space. For the past 2 years they have been firing employees over the age of 40. They harass employees who use the insurance, or they fire them without a cause. I witnessed discrimination against women and age, they won’t hire smokers and humiliate employees who are over weight. There is a low moral because employees are worried about loosing their jobs. They will only let a few employees’ advance or change departments
