Pros

Ink is uniquely positioned in the media sales space. If you work smart and are prepared to put in the effort you'll be very well rewarded. The magazines are top notch, but the environment isn't given the credit it deserves, so you need to be a tenacious, accomplished seller to thrive. Reading some of the comments on here are laughable, most likely from failed former employees that would rather blame the company, than look in the mirror and blame their own short comings. You are told very clearly in the interview process exactly what is expected. I've been with Ink 8 years and I walked in flat broke. Nothing was handed to me. I had to work hard, but the leadership team saw that and my career with Ink took off from there. On top of that, at least 50% of the employee that work in the same office as me have been there for years and are doing very well. I've seen many people come and go during this time and none of the decisions were questionable! They either weren't good enough or they decided that the job wasn't for them. This isn't a place for slackers - hard work earns respect, advancement and financial reward.

Cons

Its a competitive landscape. The cons are external with competitors underselling

Pros

Nice people on the sales floor. Some of the middle managers are OK too - it is just that they are pressured from higher up not to be nice!

Cons

You can be a great salesman at Ink but they simply won't reward you. They are penny pinchers who are always trying to cheat you out of as much as possible. Even if you sell loads they find ways to claw back commission or pay you at a lower rate. That is most likely why commission structures are not included in the contract of employment - they repeatedly change the commission rates so they can pay you less. Loads of good sales people have wasted time at this company and in the period I was there I'd guess there was at least one person leaving every week - some of them because they were no good at sales, but many of them great at sales.

Thank you for your views. As we have already stated in a number of newer reviews: there has been a number of changes in how we do things at Ink in the last few years. We have addressed many of the issues that you raise. For the record, our Commission structure has been clear and transparent for some time now.

Revolving Door

Pros

Some great people, there are an elite few earning a VERY comfortable living while still very young.

Cons

Biggest problem is the non-achievable 10 calls per days. Average is 5 on the sales floor so the average commission percentage is 5% this is way below the industry standard. I was on 1%. It just means you can sell and sell, but if you don't follow their silly rules. They pocket the money, and you get paid nothing. Secondly, it's a revolving door. Far too many leaving, far too many joining. Check the terms of your contract, everyone has a one week notice period. They really couldn't careless.

Thank you for your feedback. You have raised some interesting points here that, we can reassure you, are now very much out of date. We have updated many practices in the Company and we are seeing the positive results of those changes.
