Pros

I recommend judging Ink for yourself and not relying on Glassdoor, but perhaps the below could be useful for some. Listen carefully to what you're told during interviews and ask lots of questions throughout the hiring process. I saw lots of people come and go. It wasn't necessarily due to Ink, but more because they weren't ready for what the job entails. Perhaps it's easy to say yes and nod whilst in an interview because you want a job, when in reality this is a tough job and it’s not for everyone! You get out what you put in, whether that's through effort, working smart, learning from others, working long hours etc. Your success is down to you - Ink offers a space for individuals to be creative in how they succeed, but only if you take full advantage of it. There will be lots of pressure (it’s sales), long days, stressful deadlines and so on, but you'll learn a lot about yourself doing it. Many teams and colleagues are like a family, so it's nice to get through it alongside others who are in the same boat as you. As well as affording lots of my own holidays, in 3 years I went to Amsterdam x2, Switzerland x2, Mexico, Jamaica, Nice, Washington, Prague and Austria. Most were team incentives or trips won through a competition, a few were business trips. They encourage you to go on business trips and there’s always competitions to win, I’ve seen colleagues win free holidays in week 1 through luck as well as effort. You have the ability to earn crazy amounts of commission in this job, but it really does come with the effort. The trick is consistency and staying humble.

Cons

If you’re looking for steady working hours this probably won't be for you. It's possible for some, but the job often requires you to put in longer hours to meet targets, print deadlines or airline requirements. It's just the nature of this job. There’s nowhere to hide. Be prepared for anything and have an open mind. Your performance numbers and KPIs are on show for everyone to see. You have to embrace and use it, but I appreciate not all people will be comfortable with this. Competition amongst individuals & teams can be a challenge. Sometimes you might find a great lead or have a good call, only to find out that they are already in contact with someone else at Ink. In these cases, it goes back to the rulebook and you should use the CRM system properly to stop this happening. Yes travel is a bonus, but some people expected it. In the most part, you’re rewarded with it for the right behaviours or achievements, although people do win trips through luck.
