Pros

The people here are all pretty friendly. The company has a lot of diversity at the top. Full time hours plus benefits. A lot of opportunity for growth. (You'll be turning down promotions faster than you know it.) This place is a meritocracy and that's great.

Cons

There are opportunities for growth but so few open positions. The bonuses are the smallest I've ever seen for the sales industry. How can you split a single monthly bonus of $50 with 3-4 people? For the amount of work required, respectfully, I don't think it's worth the compensation. You are the maintenance person and the sales person, and the manager. If you bust your hump and go the extra mile you may get lucky and take home a $20 bonus for the month? If you live on site you will actually make LESS $ per hour because they build it into your compensation but living on site comes with responsibilities too and isn't exactly "free." What is $200 a month to a company that continues to do so well when you're a contribution to that continued success? The compensation between assistant, store, and lead are not much different. What incentive is there to move up when it's more work and responsibility for $1-$2/hr more? If you aren't going for a rare DM position, why move up and take on the added stress and responsibility? You will use your personal vehicle for business purposes 3-4 times a week. You will/may have to clean up feces and or urine or vomit. You will/may deal with troublesome members of the homeless population and they'll be living on site and you'll be limited in your scope to do anything about it. Honestly, if you have a higher degree, I wouldn't consider working in the field at any of the stores because the compensation will not match your value and or experience.

It is a job..

Pros

Great co-workers and a lot of down time to catch up on the news. Also when it is slow I have time to apply for a new job and conduct phone interviews.

Cons

Most of the time working alone and managers get all the credit for everything. Pay could be a lot better as well. I have been working here for 3 years and new hires in the same position as I get paid more than me and I have a Bachelors Degree in Business. I applied for a District Manager in Training position and I met all the qualifications in the job description but was told I have to become a manager, and training manger first. The person who ended up getting the position never worked in the storage industry before getting hired. How do they expect us to stay motivated and try to get promoted when it would take another 5 years to move up with crappy pay. You are required to do Sales, Collections, Maintenance, and clean units while trying to reach some of the ridiculous goals the company wants to you hit. They also expect employees to get Google reviews from every customer that comes into the office. If you do not reach your Google Review goal you receive and nasty-gram email from your DM. Also having split days off lowers the moral of your employees.

Pros

Once this company had some great pros but they have loss who they once was. Only pro I can give is steady work hours but please understand that they do not want to pay any overtime if you have to stay over to help a customer you have to make up that time later in the week.

Cons

Work all Friday's, Saturday's, and Monday's Work alone most of the time Have to deal with angry customer over rate increases Have to force people to buy insurance they don't want Have to make people do Google reviews in office to help make the company look good Very expensive health insurance Company is very greedy
