Pros

Flexibility in work hours depending on the department you work in. Some departments have no flexibility. Due to the changes new job roles are being created. Salary and vacation time are both good. Friendly co-workers and team leaders.

Cons

Many changes are occurring in the company that have also caused many jobs to be eliminated. Benefits are expensive. Only some departments are able to work from home. No longer offer a compressed work week.

Thanks for recommending Economical and for sharing your views! We appreciate your contributions over the last 10 years and agree that you’ve seen tremendous growth and changes in this decade. Many new roles have been created as we’ve expanded into digital platforms, pet insurance, and other exciting changes. Some roles have been phased out as customer and business needs change, and technology modernizes the way we work. As you mentioned, our friendly, fantastic people are behind our success, and we foster positive career experiences with competitive salary, vacation time, and flexibility wherever possible. As we move toward more technology-driven tools and processes, work flexibility has grown, and we expect that will continue.

Thanks for your review. We’re happy that you’ve experienced collaboration across the organization and are benefiting from the strong leadership team. As an Economical leader, yourself, you have interesting opportunities to work with diverse areas of the business to collaborate, deliver on shared goals, and solve business challenges together. This type of experience and exposure helps enhance career development. You’re encouraged to have quarterly discussions with your leader to highlight your career goals and development plans. Take advantage of the many free courses we offer, as well as tuition support on a wide range of professional education offerings, and bonuses for completing certain designations. Our people are our strength, and attracting, developing and retaining top talent in our employees is a priority for us. Thanks again for your feedback.

Thank you for recommending Economical and sharing your thoughts on the company. As we work toward becoming the first national mutual P&C insurer to become a public company, we’ve made lots of updates to make sure we’re ready for the pace and requirements of being a publicly traded company. This means lots of new opportunities for employees, but also the uncertainty that can come from having to adapt to new systems and processes. We do provide comprehensive training and make a thorough effort to share our business strategies, plans, and outcomes with employees on a regular basis through internal communication and company-wide symposiums. You are also encouraged to reach out to your team leader, manager, or senior leaders with questions at any time. Thanks again for your feedback and stay tuned for more updates!
